Fire!

This is one of my favorite pictures from our vacation. At the Manitoba Museum there was an exhibit about forest fires with this picture. When you stood next to it you could hear a forest fire.

Happy Birthday Emily

We just got back from Winnipeg yesterday, so over the next few days I'll be posting pictures from our trip. The reason for our trip was my sister-in-law's birthday. I won't tell you how old she is, but suffice it to say, she is older than me. :-)

My Uncle Dwight and Aunt Violet came for a visit yesterday. I hadn't seen him for 30 years, and this is the first time I met her. We had a GREAT visit (in my opinion). Before dinner we all got out our handheld gaming systems for a little high tech interaction.

Lupins

These purple, pink (and sometimes white) flowers grow wild along the side of the highway, in the ditch.

As you can see, they are quite profuse.

Go Climb A Mountain

This afternoon three of my sons climbed the mountain behind our house. They are in the centre of the picture. This picture is just to give you an idea of how far away they were. It actually only takes about 1/2 an hour to get up there.
