Winter With A Vengeance

Winter is definately here. I haven't seen this much snow this early in the season for a long time. We got well over a foot of snow yesterday and last night. Rumor has it we are expecting 20 to 40 cm more tonight. Looks like I got my new vehicle just in the nick of time.

On the way to Cuba, we stopped in Toronto for a couple days. My brother (the pilot) took us up for a ride and let Mark fly the plane.

Flood

The first picture was taken at the height of flooding. The second was taken 2 days later, after the water receded.

As you can see in the photo, the beach was entirely flooded. The sandy beach is usually about 50' deep.

The bottom photo effect was achieved by slowing down the shutter speed to 1/5 0f a second.

Think Pink

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. In support of Breast Cancer Research my sister-in-law raised money through pledges and then she dyed her hair bright pink.

The first time I came to Thunder Bay, there was so little water you could take a shower under the falls (1977). The second picture is what happens after a week of heavy rain.
