I don't know what this animal is, but it was behind my house today. It's about the size of a ground hog. It has a round, fat body with a tail like a rat. It's not even cute. I think the feet may have been webbed, but I can't say for sure.
It is said that the eyes are the window to the soul. This is the same photo as posted before. In this one I've desaturated it except for her brown eyes so they really stand out. I've also cropped the photo in quite close. I'm very happy with the results. (Her father hates it, lol)
Here is another example of what you can do in Photoshop. The photograph itself is an old one and not a very good quality one. The subject however, was a young attractive girl who needed hardly any touchups. Basically I just whitened her eyes and added highlights to her cheeks. I also blurred the background to make her stand out. Having such a photogenic subject makes my work much easier.
One of my homework assignments was to take a silhouette shot and a freeze motion shot. I thought I would combine the two shots into one. It's easy enough to do the freeze frame, but the silhouette shot is proving more challenging than I had anticipated. These are my best attempts before the sun went down, but I think there is still too much light on Mark. The settings for both shots were F14 and 1/320 with an ISO of 100. I will try again on the next sunny day we have and maybe use a shutter speed around 1/800 or 1/1000.
My brother got me interested in photography, so I've set up a studio in my basement and recruited friends and family as test subjects on which to practice my budding photography talents. My best friend and her mom came over earlier this week for a "photo shoot". The above photo is one of the results.
